1. Setting up your Account: PayPal leads you through the process of creating a PayPal account. You will need to create an account login and password to continue with the PayPal process. Go Here to set up your account. Watch the Demos and read all the information carefully. 2. You have three basic choices for business accounts. - Website Payments Standard (That's what I use)
Start accepting payments today - cart optional. Your customers don't even need a PayPal account.
- Website Payments Pro (U.S. Only)
Customers pay with credit cards directly on your site.
- Email Payments
Bill your customers through email and get paid fast - no website required.
During the process you will need to give your bank information to PayPal. They then will make two small desposits to your account and then subtract them. You will need to access your bank account and record these transactions. After doing this go back to PayPal to verify your ownership of the bank account. Verifying your account gives it legitimacy. Note: I suggest you open a separate account to deal with PayPal just for security reasons. This too will make life easier at tax time for your business.
3. OK, now you have an account and your bank information is set up and verified. 4. Return to the PayPal Member Services area (link above) and log in. During the process you will be given the opportunity to utilize a shopping cart method or "Buy Now Buttons". The "Buy Now Buttons" are the easiest solution. 5. The "Buy Now Button" Process 1. Go to the Merchant Services area of your Account. 2. Select "Buy Now Buttons" toward the bottom of the page. 3. Click "GET STARTED" in the menu on the left. 4. Enter the required information. 5. When your finished click on "Create Button Now" 6. They supply the HTML code you need for the buttons. Copy the code that's supplied on their site.
6. Return to your site and open your page in Web Designer. 7. Click "Module" and "HTML" in the Menu and paste the code into the HTML dialog box. Click "OK" 8.
